Dr Tana Joseph co-organised and co-hosted the Open Days which were held twice a year, within the Astronomy Department at UCT for Grade. 10-12 learners who are interested in astronomy as a career.
The learners were taught and experienced:
- basic introduction to coding
- conducted citizen science by classifying galaxies online
- toured the department’s optical and radio teaching telescopes
- attended information talks on study and career paths for astronomers
